Roddy Williams

Playing his first match at just 7 years old, Roddy turned professional
at 16. Over the last 12 years he has been a significant participator
in the British Summer Season and plays year round in countries such
as the USA, South Africa, NZ, India, UAE, Brazil, Argentina, Jamaica,
Barbados, Spain, France and Mexico. He is one of the UK’s
highest handicapped professional players at 6-goals Outdoor and
7-goals in Arena polo.
Roddy, a member of the England Squad, has been chosen to play on
the Cartier International Day for the last 5 years and has represented
England in numerous touring sides and exhibition matches. He has
developed an impressive string of ponies, most of which have been
trained at Inglesham. Four of these horses won ‘Best Playing
Pony’ prizes
in major cups during 2002 to 2005 including the Cartier International
and Royal Windsor Cup.
As an UK Sports Ambassador, Roddy regularly plays in England
teams and is an active participator in British Polo Championship
capting and winning in 2005.
Roddy has been running the family Club since April 2002 when his
parents, Nick and Ginny Williams, made the decision to move to
Spain. His sister Zoë is also involved in the Club
as Marketing & Operations Manager, and brother-in-law Paul
Innes has responsibility for the farm, grounds and development
and building projects.
